NHS funded service to patients with conditions that put them at risk of cardiovascular disease

Highlands Practice are working with a company called Healthy.io to provide a new, NHS funded service to patients with conditions that put them at risk of cardiovascular disease such as diabetes and high blood pressure. This service will allow you to monitor your urine albumin:creatinine ratio (ACR) at home. This is a simple urine test that allows your GP to identify early signs of kidney damage. Patients will be able to test their urine at home using a test kit and an accompanying smartphone app. This ACR test is part of your annual review and is important for detecting and managing any signs of kidney damage promptly. You can find out more about the test by following this link – www.bit.ly/uacrtest.
